A national debate rages in the media and on the streets in response to the widespread and controversial practice of racial profiling, wherein law enforcement considers ethnic traits when predicting whether or not a person may be a criminal. This project started in 2004 and, in 2018, we are still being racially profiled. What a PITY and a SHAME.
Bio
Nick Cave, an artist and educator working out of Chicago, is the creator of full body “soundsuits,” which are made from layers of metal, plastic, fabric, hair, found objects, and other things that rub together to make noise. Many of Cave’s soundsuits are politically and socially inspired, and they have deeper meanings than just looking fantastic and making rustle sounds.
